Chipotles in Adobo is a versatile and very handy product that can add a ton of flavour and some warming heat to your foods. For those that aren’t aware, chipotle chillies are dry jalapeno peppers that undergo a lengthy smoking, usually over pecan shells. This is a chipotle, but to make this particular delight, the chillies are rehydrated and canned with a deliciously tangy adobo sauce. They are a very important part of Mexican cuisine and are popular the world over thanks to their incredible flavour.
Chipotles in Adobo are great for many dishes, either in the kitchen during preparation or on the dining table. You can use them to marinate chicken or pork for a deep, warming flavour or add them to a stew or soup. The smoky, spicy taste really lifts pretty much anything you use them with. Mix with some cream cheese to make a great sauce, or with mayonnaise to make a smoky, spicy dip. There are so many things to use them with, this is one product that is perfect for some kitchen experimentation!
