Dhansak Curry Powder is great for making your own curries at home. It is a blend of Coriander, Turmeric, Cumin, Mustard Powder, Rice Flour, Chilli powder, Fenugreek, Cardamom, Salt, Fennel, Garlic Powder, Black Pepper and Bay. Characteristics of a Dhansak Curry are heat with a sweet and sour flavour, and they are very popular in Indian takeaways. Just use as you normally would to add a huge amount of flavour to your food. Dhansak Curry Powder is, of course, perfectly usable in other applications as well. Sprinkle over oven chips or wedges, stir into sauces, stews, soups and the like. Mix into some mayo or yoghurt to create your own curry dips, or use to marinade foods in before cooking. Experimenting is half the fun!
The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
