The Flavours of the Americas and Caribbean Set give you a small taste of the huge variety of foods available in these regions. It has one from the Caribbean, one inspired by South America and one inspired by North American food. Obviously this doesn’t come close to covering the huge cultural differences that come through in the food. But it’s not a bad place to start if you’re starting out with food exploration!
Brazilian Barbeque Spice Blend (No Salt) – A zesty, delicious mix of herbs and spices that is perfectly at home on food cooking over an open grill. We love this blend and it features heavily in family get togethers in the summer, but there’s nothing stopping year round use if you like the flavours. The no salt recipe allows you to control how much seasoning is present in the food. That said, a little salt really brings flavours out!
Jerk Seasoning (No Salt) – Full of aromatic, delicious ingredients, you’ll get flavour and heat from this mix. Again, great on a barbeque, but perfectly suitable for year round use. Jerk Chicken is of course a great use for this blend, but why not experiment with other dishes to see what you can create?
Tex-Mex Seasoning – Get the flavours of Texas and Mexico in one with this mix. Tex-Mex has become an extremely popular cuisine across America and Europe, and is gaining ground in the rest of the world too. A versatile blend that you can use to flavour a great many dishes.
The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to. Taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
