Onion Granules are the dry, ground bulbs of the Allium Cepa plant, or common onion. They are so useful in the kitchen, we’d class them as an essential store cupboard ingredient. Onions form the base of so many dishes, but sometimes you just don’t have the time to peel and chop them. Of course, sometimes you just can’t be bothered with the messing about, too! Having Onion Granules on hand, ready to go, cuts down a huge amount of the preparation times and lets you get on with cooking. Now you can get all the delicious flavours of onion without shedding a single tear – well worth having just for that reason!
Use Onion Granules almost anywhere that calls for chopped onions in the recipe. This can be in stews, casseroles, sauces, marinades, curries and more. This size granule sits in the middle – coarser than Onion Powder, but finer than Minced Onion so you can choose the best one for your recipe. Powder is great in sauces and soups as it dissolves more readily. Granules and Minced Onion are better with rubs, stuffings, marinades and everything else.
As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
