Ground Bay Leaves are the dry, ground leaves of the Laurus Nobilis tree. Usually, you might find Bay Leaves go into the dish whole to infuse the flavours before taking them out and discarding. But what do you do if you want the flavours of bay in a marinade or custom rub? Use ground! Add a delicious herby, floral flavour to your foods with a quick sprinkle. This staple of Mediterranean cooking is indispensable when making dishes from the region.
Ground Bay Leaves are also great for adding to dishes such as soups, stews and much more. Now there is no need to go fishing for whole leaves! Add some flavour to a tomato or marinara sauce, but be aware that bay leaf in this form can be quite potent. As with herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the taste you want. Adding more is easy, removing it again can be difficult, if not impossible!
We also have whole Bay Leaves and Malabathrum Leaves (Indian Bay), should you be looking for those.
