Tiamat is a blend of sea salt, spices and incredibly hot chilli powder. The blend seems to be more than the sum of its parts, though! This is a superb seasoning for your dining table if you’re a fan of the spicy side of food. Alternatively, use it in the kitchen as a cooking ingredient to bring the flavour and fire.

Tiamat is a super versatile seasoning that would be a great swap out for regular table salt. If you can’t get enough of that fiery heat, you may never go back. Sprinkle onto chips, potato wedges and other similar foods. Use as a seasoning for meats after cooking, add some to a marinade or sauce or use as a dry rub if you like. This is a great all rounder and whether you use it with stews, pizza, pasta dishes, they’ll all get a burst of flavour and a smack of spicy heat!

Balefire is an artisan condiment producer in County Durham, run by twin brothers Pete and Jim. They combine historic and modern techniques to produce their own unique vinegars and they ferment their own chillies for several weeks. Many of their sauces feature craft beers or spirits for more complexity and layers and the attention to detail is fantastic, right down to the wax dip on every single bottle. The results are sauces of real distinction, bursting with flavours that we loved from day 1! We’re proud to be able to bring Balefire to you and we highly recommend every sauce in the range. Other great seasonings from the range include Wake Me Up, Lecker Salz & Chantico Dust.
