African Curry Paste is a cooking sauce that uses many ingredients from Nigeria to really bring an authentic taste of West Africa to your foods. Star of the show is the West African pepper, otherwise known as Uziza. This spice has many uses in the kitchen and many out of it too. These include treating colds, flu, rheumatism and flatulence and is also thought to be an aphrodisiac! We’re only about the flavour though and this paste has loads of it. With flavours of crayfish and Nchanwu (Nigerian basil) alongside the heat of scotch bonnet and naga chillies, get ready for a true taste of Africa!

African Curry Paste is very easy to use – just add a little water and pour onto your chosen meat or vegetables for a quick meal. You can, of course, simmer it down and add your own ingredients if you choose to, building on the smoky, nutty flavours that are in the paste. This is a spicy one, so be sure to try some before serving to everyone. You can always add some coconut milk (or similar) to temper the heat somewhat.
