Black & Bleu Seasoning

Black & Bleu Seasoning brings the taste of blue cheese and spices together to create a deliciously sharp and creamy blend. The bleu refers to the blue cheese, but what about the black? Generally, it describes Cajun blackening spices that you would find on meats such as steak or a burger. We have these spices in the blend, but have also pushed the black pepper up to really help cut through the cheese flavour, balancing it out.

Black & Bleu Seasoning is best as a finishing blend, sprinkling it on food after cooking (or tumbling the food in it if possible). If you want to cook with it, we recommend doing so right near the end of cooking and mixing the blend with some oil before brushing it on. The reason being, cheese powders can easily burn and become bitter if not protected from dry heat. By adding oil (or any wet ingredient) the cheese is not exposed directly to the grill and will stand up a bit better to the heat. Try the blend with steaks, burger or anything else from a barbecue. Toss chicken wings in it just as they come out of the oven for instant flavour. Alternatively, add a couple of spoonfuls to a bag of fresh popcorn and shake to coat evenly! If you’re a fan of pepper and cheese, this may be right up your street!
