Chip Shop Gravy Mix is let you recreate this chippy staple in the comfort of your own home! Loved by many in the North, confusing for many in the South, Chip Shop Gravy is a rich and savoury delight that goes with much more than chips. If you’ve ever tried to make your own, you know it can be difficult to get the flavours that mimic the original. Now it’s easy!
Chip Shop Gravy Mix makes a gravy that is of course great with a chippy tea. But why stop there? If you love those flavours, why not try it with a Sunday roast? Or as the base of a stew or casserole?
Gravy Preparation
Making up the sauce is very simple. You’ll need 25g of mix per 300ml of cold water. Combine the dry mix with a little of the water first to make a paste and stir until all lumps are gone. Add the rest of the water, bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring all the time. We recommend Adding slightly less water to make a thicker gravy, then using boiling water to adjust to you preference at the end.
