Ground Black Pepper is the finely milled peppercorns from the Piper nigrum plant. What spice cupboard would be complete without black pepper?! Its use is almost ubiquitous across the globe and, with salt, forms the basis of many seasonings. The fine powder is great for use in sauces, soups and much more where you want flavour but not the texture of black pepper from a grinder. It is also perfect for making your own spice blends as it will sit better with ingredients like Garlic Granules and Paprika.
Ground Black Pepper is, of course, ideal for savoury cooking, but that’s not all. A light dusting on fruit such as strawberries can bring out the fruitiness, or you could use it in bakery, especially crackers and biscuits. There is no limit to what you can use Ground Black Pepper with, as long as you like the flavours! We also have Black Peppercorns, should that suit your needs better, or alternatively, White Peppercorns, Pink Peppercorns and a 5 Pepper Mix. Maybe try our Garlic Pepper to cram even more flavour into your dishes!
As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
