Avocado Leaf Powder

Avocado Leaf Powder comes from drying and grinding the leaves of the Persea Americana plant. These leaves have a similar flavour to the fruit but with a little sweetness and hints of anise. It does seem a shame that only the avocado fruit enjoys the popularity it does have while the leaves are left in relative obscurity. The people of Middle and South America have used them for a long time to add flavour to their foods.

Avocado Leaf Powder is a great ingredient for making authentic Mexican dishes. Use with marinades, sauces, soups and stews to help capture the soul of the region. Many use it as a substitute for epazote if they cannot find it. Try it in stews, quesadillas, tamales, in bean dishes or with lamb. You could also use it to make a herbal cream too. Another great ingredient for exploring and incorporating into your own dishes!
