Carolina Reaper Chilli Powder

Carolina Reaper Chilli Powder is 100% pure reapers – no fillers or bulking powders. This particular cultivar of the Capsicum chinense is the hottest chilli in the world (but keep an eye out for Pepper X – a new challenger!). There is no other way to describe this powder than crazy hot. This certainly isn’t the cheapest chilli powder around, but you really won’t be needing very much at all, which is why we don’t do it in a 100g bag. A very small amount will add a huge hit of heat to your foods as Carolina Reaper Chilli Powder can measure anything up to 2 million on the Scoville Heat scale. If you can get past the heat, the flavours are fruity and sweet with hints of cherry and chocolate.

If you’re the hardiest of chilli heads, you’ll find plenty of uses for this extreme spice. Make your own hot sauce, add some fire to a curry or make molten lava marinades! We strongly recommend not using Carolina Reaper Chilli Powder to prank friends down the pub or anywhere else. Careless use can result in serious health problems including stomach cramps, heartburn, fainting and more. Even opening the jar and taking a whiff can cause coughing and wheezing. The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame (though not in this case we’d think!). Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
