Doner Kebab Seasoning is the perfect blend to enhance the flavours of lamb (or anything else) when making a takeaway classic at home. It is a mix of Turkish Oregano, Italian Herbs, Garlic Granules, Onion Granules, Black Pepper, Sumac and Cayenne. These blend with the flavour of the meat to give an authentic flavour of this very popular dish. Take some lamb mince (or whatever you want), add a few tablespoons of Doner Kebab Seasoning (and some salt) and leave to sit for at least a few hours in the fridge. At this stage you can blend it, which makes it easier to cut after cooking. Turn the mix into a loaf tin an bake in the oven until it is cooked through. Slice as finely as possible and serve with salad!

PLEASE NOTE – There is no salt in this blend so you can add much or as little as you want. We find that you can add a fair bit to really enhance the flavours, but like anything, you’ll need to experiment to find the levels you like. We’d highly recommend having a go at trying to make it yourself in the comfort of your own kitchen!

Doner Kebabs have been around for centuries, originating in the Ottoman Empire. From there, it spread to neighbouring countries where local chefs made changes and additions to suit local palettes. The first Doner kebab shop in the UK opened in London in 1966 and from there popped up in towns and cities all over the country.

The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
