Fine Sea Salt is one of those ingredients that no kitchen should be without. It is used for seasoning almost every dish, bringing out and enhancing flavours, even with just a pinch. It is also one of those ingredients that matters when it comes to quality, too, as many chefs find sea salt tastes far better than salt from solution mining and other methods. Our Fine Sea Salt comes from Israel where harvesting takes place from the Red Sea. This region consistently produces high grade salt, which goes through a refinement process to get it to the fine, powdery end product. Very easy to use whether from a jar or a packet, simple open and apply.

Our Fine Sea Salt does not have anti-caking agents, so you may find that it settles over time. This is perfectly normal and a consequence of not having the additive that prevents it. Before use, just give the jar or bag a shake to get it into a free flowing condition again. Some sources suggest putting a few grains of raw rice in a shaker with the salt. The rice absorbs any ambient moisture and keeps the salt clump free. We haven’t tested it, but it sounds like it should work! Alternative salts we have are Coarse Sea Salt, Pink Himalayan Salt, Chilli Salt, Sage & Onion Salt and Tomato, Olive & Basil Salt, to name a few.

As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
