Blue Salt is a beautiful salt, thanks to the location it comes from and the minerals it fuses with. It is from an ancient salt lake bed in a unique geographic location, and comes from a single seam running through it. The mineral sylvin gives it that colouring and makes it unique in the world of spices – you can’t make this in a factory! Bear in mind that the finer you grind it, the more the colouring will fade. If you’re using it as a talking point at the dinner table, leave it whole and grind/ crush as you require.

Blue Salt is coarse in grain size to get those colours, but will need grinding to make it a more edible size. This is not a finishing salt! Salt is, of course, the most useful of all seasonings and you can use this with pretty much any dish you want. Whether you use it in the kitchen or on the dinner table, this is a extremely pure salt that will enrich flavours. We also have Cubic Halit Coarse Salt, Aegean Fleur de Sel, Guérande Gros Sel, Hawaiian Jade Bamboo Salt and Kala Namak Indian Black Salt, if you’re looking for something else.

As with any salt, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. It’s easy to add more, but difficult if not impossible to remove it again.
