Cubic Halit Coarse Salt is an incredibly old salt that formed while dinosaurs roamed the earth! This is as early as 200 million years ago and is one of the purest salts you can find. The main reason is that there is no exposure to environmental and atmospheric pollution from human activities. Sodium chloride content is 99.99%, with some beneficial minerals making up that last tiny percentage. Flavours are strongly salty, but with no hint of bitterness.
Cubic Halit Coarse Salt is a rock type salt, and therefore quite hard. Generally, it would be called cubic Halite, but we use the name given at origin. Use with a grinder or pestle and mortar to bring it down to an edible size grain that won’t risk anyone’s teeth. This is not a finishing salt! Salt is, of course, the most useful of all seasonings and you can use this with pretty much any dish you want. Whether you use it in the kitchen or on the dinner table, this is a extremely pure salt that will enrich flavours. We also have Halen Môn Pure Sea Salt, Persian Blue Salt, Guérande Gros Sel, Hawaiian Jade Bamboo Salt and Kala Namak Indian Black Salt, if you’re looking for something else.
As with any salt, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. It’s easy to add more, but difficult if not impossible to remove it again.
