Ground Coriander is an important herb in the cuisines of many cultures of the world. Its is perfect for flavouring soups, curries, tagines and many other middle eastern and Indian foods. It’s taste is warming, nutty, a little spicy with a hint of orange citrus. It pairs well with Cumin, but is also great for making your own spice blends and seasonings. You find it a lot of blends including Balti Curry Powder, New York Barbeque Rib Rub, Tikka Masala Curry Powder, Ras-El-Hanout and so much more.
Ground coriander comes from the dried, ground and steam treated seeds of the Coriandrum Stativum plant. The aromatic, mildly spicy flavour is different from fresh leaf coriander. You can find Coriander Seeds by following this link.
As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
