Spicy Taste Just for You!
Hot Paprika comes from the dry, ground fruits of the Capsicum Annum and Capsicum Frutescens Plants and is hotter than other paprikas. It is a very popular spice throughout the world, bringing an earthy, peppery taste to dishes but with a fiery heat. You can use it for flavouring a huge number of foods including vegetables, shellfish, soups, meat, eggs, potatoes and much more. It is also great in paellas, goulash, soups, made into batters for deep frying, marinades, sauces and so much more.
Hot Paprika will also add a dash of colour to food if you sprinkle it on after cooking. This works very well with roast chicken, potato wedges rice and vegetables. Other Paprikas we have are “Normal” Paprika, Hot Oak Smoked Paprika, Smoked Paprika and Spanish Sweet Paprika – all delicious!
The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
Hot Paprika Combinations
As with many spices and seasoning available, hot paprika can be paired with others to bring out the flavour of any dish. Some of these combinations include garlic, cayenne pepper, hot smoked paprika, ginger, allspice, and tumeric, among others. One of the great benefits of hot paprika is that the flavour is relatively easy to incorporate into a variety of dishes, so pairing with other flavours can lead to a wonderfully unique flavour blend that tastes simply delicious.
