Spanish Sweet Paprika powder comes from the dry, ground fruits of the Capsicum Annum Plant, and is one of a few kinds of Paprika available. It is a very popular spice throughout the world, bringing an earthy, peppery taste to dishes but with a sweeter flavour than other paprikas. You can use it for flavouring a huge number of foods including vegetables, shellfish, soups, meat, eggs, potatoes and much more. It is also great in paellas, goulash, soups, made into batters for deep frying, marinades, sauces and so much more.

Spanish Sweet Paprika will also add a dash of colour to food if you sprinkle it on after cooking. This works very well with roast chicken, potato wedges, rice and vegetables. Other Paprikas we have are “Normal” Paprika, Hot Oak Smoked Paprika, Smoked Paprika and Hot Paprika – all delicious! We also have Hungarian Noble Sweet Paprika, should you be looking for that. The difference is that Spanish is your typical sweet paprika, usually the one on sale in supermarkets everywhere. Hungarian is a premium product, grown in smaller volumes, but sought after by top chefs.

As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
