Lemon Thyme is the dry, cut leaves of the Thymus vulgaris plant (citrodorius sub variety). It has many of the flavours and aromas of thyme, but with a slight lemony essence. The subtle sweet and sour taste goes well with many dishes and is interchangeable with other thyme varieties. There isn’t really much information on the origins of this wonderful herb, but some believe it to have originated in Southern Europe.
Use Lemon Thyme wherever you feel like adding extra delicious herby flavours. It pair very well with chicken and other poultry, fish and vegetables. Either combine with other herbs and spices to make a marinade, or just sprinkle on on its own. Mix with some butter to top a jacket potato, peas or corn (or whatever else you can think of!). We also have Winter Thyme, regular Thyme and many other herbs including Savoury, Dill. Sage and more!
As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
