Minced Onion is made up of dehydrated pieces of chopped onion (Allium Cepa). It is a very handy ingredient to have around as you can use it in place of fresh onions. They are perfect for soups, stews, casseroles, sauces, chutneys and various bread recipes. Mix some up with some Sage and breadcrumbs to make an amazing stuffing. It also pairs perfectly with Garlic as well as Parsley, Rosemary, Coriander, Oregano and Basil. The flavour is more caramelised than fresh onions, which add a delicious flavour to any food. Plus, no more watering eyes!
Please be aware that Minced Onion is hydroscopic, meaning that it will readily absorb moisture from the atmosphere, given the chance. Always reseal the bag as quickly as you can to prevent it going hard and lumpy.
