Potato Seasoning is a blend of herbs and spices that go well with potatoes, however you cook them! It is a combination of Paprika, Onion granules, Thyme, Basil, Black Pepper and Cayenne Pepper. A fairly simple mix that will add lots of flavour to potato dishes, or any other vegetables for that matter.
For potato mash, just sprinkle as much as you want onto them before mashing. With Jacket potatoes, you can either mix some Potato Seasoning with butter or add some directly to the potato. If roasting, toss par boiled potatoes in the seasoning before putting in the oven. Of course, if you like potatoes done in other ways, there is much experimenting to be done! You can even just sprinkle it over chips, wedges and waffles for a quick and easy flavour boost. PLEASE NOTE – This blend has no salt in it, so you can add as little or as much as you want. We recommend adding a little to really bring out and enhance the flavours of the spices.
The heat from chillies is a subjective thing, we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find a heat level you like. If you’re tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
