Ground celery is the dry, ground seeds of the Apium graveolens plant, sometimes called wild celery. A little goes a long way with this potent spice, so go easy at first! This is a superb ingredient for adding lots of flavour to your dishes where it brings a delicious savoury depth. It is quite a distinctive flavour that is easily recognisable in blends and or on its own. We also have Celery Salt available, if you’d prefer that.

Ground Celery is great in soups, stews and broths where just a pinch can elevate the flavours nicely. You can make a salad dressing by mixing with oil and vinegar or add to pickling vinegar to add an extra dimension. Why not use some in your own custom spice blends and rubs for meats and vegetables! The sky’s the limit when it comes to kitchen experimentation. Just be sure everyone can eat celery before serving – it is an allergen. Other ground seed products we have include Ground Cardamom, Coriander, Cumin, Fennel, Fenugreek – and that’s just the first few letters of the alphabet!

As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more but taking it out again can be impossible!
