Ikan Goreng is a general term that describes deep fried fish and other seafood from Indonesian and Malaysian cuisines. This seasoning goes some way to give the flavours you’d expect from these dishes. It is a blend of Sugar, Black pepper, Chilli Powder, Garlic Granules, Mint and Parsley. If you can, coat the fish in some seasoning and leave it to infuse for the best results.
Ikan Goreng is great for use with many fish and many cooking methods. If you cook fish in the oven in a wrapper, or open to the direct heat, it’ll work. You can even mix some with a tin of tuna or other fish to add flavour. PLEASE NOTE – This blend has no salt in it, so you can add as little or as much as you want. We recommend adding at least some to really bring out and enhance the flavours of the spices.
As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
