New York Barbeque Rib Rub is a blend of herbs and spices that evoke the flavours of the region. America knows how to do a barbeque, and ribs are pretty much always on the menu, usually flavoured to perfection. It is a blend of Caraway, Coriander, Cumin, Dill, Garlic, Onion. You may notice that there is no salt, sugar or chilli in the rib rubs as you can add these in whatever quantities you want, to your taste.
To use New York Barbeque Rib Rub, start with brushing the ribs with some vegetable oil and rubbing in the spice mix. Leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, but the longer the better – if you can do it the day before cooking, perfect! Place the ribs on a baking tray, cover with foil and bake at 160°C for between 2 and a half to 4 hours, depending on how thick they are. For the last 30 minutes, remove the foil.
While the New York Barbeque Rib Rub is great for ribs, you can also use it to marinate other foods too. After rubbing onto meat, be sure to dispose of any that spills off onto surfaces. Other barbeque blends we have are Memphis and Carolina Rib Rubs, or Barbeque Burning Herbs.
