Bolognese Spice Blend is a mix of herbs and spices that give the popular Italian dish a wonderfully, deep flavour. It is blend of Tomato Powder, Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Garlic Granules, Onion Granules, Ground Bay Leaf, Parsley, Black Pepper, Ground Celery & Ground Nutmeg. The herbs and spices add complexity and a great taste and the tomato powder enhances the flavours of any tomato you use in the sauce. Many blends use a flour to help thicken the sauce up, but we don’t – you can always add some if you want, we just prefer to let that be your choice. Same with salt – there is none in the blend, so you can choose how much to use. We’d suggest adding some to really help bring out flavours.
Bolognese Spice Blend is a ideal for adding to the beef mince (or other meat/ veggie alternative) after browning and draining of excess liquid. As a guide, we’d recommend about a tablespoon per 500g, but you can add more or use less, if you’d prefer.

As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
