Punjabi Masala Curry Powder is a great blend of spices that will help you create delicious authentic tasting curries. It is a combination of Ginger, Garlic, Hot Cayenne, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Mustard Powder, Turmeric, Green Cardamom, Cumin, Fenugreek and Bay Leaves. The Punjab region of India is in the North and, like any other region, has it’s own style of cooking. This blend has a blend of pungent ingredients that give a highly flavourful boost to curries or whatever else you want to use it with.
Punjabi Masala Curry Powder is a fairly hot blend, falling somewhere between a Hot Madras and a Vindaloo. If heat is your thing, then why not experiment and see what else you can add it too. Sprinkle over chips, stir some into baked beans, flavour meats with it and much more.
The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
