Oktoberfest Bavarian Seasoning takes inspiration from the eponymous Oktoberfest festival in Germany. As well as the copious amounts of beer that is consumed, there is an amazing array of food available too. Roast pork, ham hock, a huge variety of sausages, pretzels, sauerkraut and more. One of the most popular foods is roast chicken, and that is is where this blend shines. It is combination of Paprika, Coriander, Onion, Sage, Thyme, Oregano, Garlic, Cayenne, Rosemary, Fennel and Mustard Powder. These give the chicken an amazing flavour and aroma.
Of course, Oktoberfest Bavarian Seasoning isn’t only for chicken, especially if you find you really like the blend. Why not try with other poultry, pork, vegetable or barbeque foods to see how it comes out. The ingredients are a warming blend that, when coupled with the cayenne, can help stave off the cooling temperatures that are usual in October.
As with all herbs and spices, add a little at a time to get the flavour you want. You can always add more, but taking it out again can be impossible!
