Biryani Spice Blend makes making an authentic biryani much easier than grinding all the spices yourself. The complex mix consists of Salt, Turmeric, Ground Coriander, Skimmed Milk Powder, Wheat Powder, Cumin, Ginger, Chilli Powder, Pimento, Cinnamon, Garlic powder, Crushed Chillies, Coriander leaf, Cardamom, Cloves and Turmeric Extract. Making a traditional Biryani with this blend is of course a great way to use it, where you’ll get layers of flavour over your chosen main ingredient (chicken, beef, vegetables etc).
Biryani Spice Blend is a great option to flavour other foods with too. Sprinkle on chips, baked potatoes or wedges for a twist on the norm. You can also mix some with a little oil of yoghurt to make dips and marinades too. We have other curry powders available if you want to try something different. These include Tikka Masala, Rogan Josh, Vindaloo, Kashmiri, Balti, Hot Madras, Mild Curry Powder and more.
The heat from chillies is a subjective thing we find; what some may find too hot, others might find tame. Therefore, you should go easy on chillies, chilli powders and blends with chilli powders in them to find the heat level you like. If you are tasting as you go, you can always add a little more if you need to, but taking heat out is difficult if not impossible.
